My trip with my family to Bhutan was easily one of the most memorable outings i have ever had. The planning on our part was not good and the decision was taken very late. Touriana Travels arranged train tickets, transport from SIliguri and hotel stays in Bhutan with remarkable speed which was way beyond our ability to arrange on our own. We left Kolkata on the 18th April and reached Siliguri on the 19th. From there we had a Wagon R driven by a very efficient driver Mr Shanta Kumat Tamang which took us to Phuntsoeling, where we had to get our travel papers at the immigration office. We set out from Phuntsoeling after an overnight stay at Hotel Sinchula and reached Thimpu on the 20th where we stayed at Hotel Relax. It was thorough enjoyment in an incredibly clean town on the 22st. The Buddha Point, Takin reserve and the seat of the Government and the Royal Palace were the star attractions. We left for Punakha on the 21st. The Pumakha Dzong was an experience out of this world. The beauty, natural and the flowering trees around the Dzong is heavenly. We stayed overnight at Wangdi at Hotel Tashi. We left next morning the 23rd reaching Paro in the evening. On the 24th we moved all over Paro, the Museum, Kichu Gompa, Drukgyel Dzong. I went out of plan on foot to the Takstang or the famed Tiger’s Nest Monastery climbing 3000 foot in 2 hours and 15 minutes. It is the holiest Buddhist Himalayan Shrine of Bhutan. We had been put up at Hotel Paro as the hotel scheduled for us was full. Infortunately the services at Hotel Paro were not that good. We left Paro reaching Siliguri on the 25th where of course we had to wait at the NJP Station for 4 hours in humid heat with no place to sit for the Padatik Express. We reached Kolkata comfortably on the Padatik Express on the 26th Morning. The train journeys were extra comfortable in the Luxury AC 3. Thanks to Touriana for the lovely travel! We will avail your services again when we go out on a holiday! Please keep it up!
